Erik J. A. Morrison is an executive-level Human Resources leader and the Founder of The Kander Group, LLC — a firm built on the belief that candor is the foundation of purposeful leadership.

With more than a decade of progressive experience across public school districts, charter schools, therapeutic institutions, and large-scale government contracting environments, Erik has led HR strategy in highly regulated, unionized, and mission-driven settings. He has served as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and boards, managed relations multiple unions with many collective bargaining agreements, acted as Title IX & Civil Rights Compliance Officer, and independently led complex workplace investigations.

His career is marked by measurable results, including:

  • Modernizing recruiting systems and reducing vacancies by more than 60%

  • Filling 80+ critical positions in under six months in a large public school district

  • Leading the cultural turnaround of a 200-person operational team

  • Designing succession planning and leadership development frameworks

  • Strengthening compliance infrastructures in FMLA, labor relations, and civil rights oversight

Erik holds a Master of Jurisprudence in Labor & Employment Law from Tulane University School of Law, an MBA with a concentration in Human Resource Management, a bachelor’s degree in History and a minor in Arts Administration from Skidmore College, and the SHRM-SCP credential. His academic research, Managing the Legal Challenges of a Multi-Generational Workforce, informs The Kander Group’s approach to generational equity, reverse discrimination risk mitigation, and legally defensible inclusion strategies.
